Education and Outreach Assistant Position

STAGES Performing Arts Academy is seeking a Part-Time Assistant to maintain day-to-day administrative responsibilities for all Academy internal and external programs while preserving and advancing the art form of Musical Theatre through excellence in education and performance. The ideal candidate will support all efforts and initiatives of the STAGES organization in an effort to provide an exceptional experience to all patrons, students, and employees. 

This position requires proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office. Applicants will be expected to assist with payroll, invoicing, and payment processing, as well as take class registrations by phone, online and/or in person. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate the ability to set goals, assign priorities, anticipate problems, and achieve results.

Teaching Artist Position
STAGES Performing Arts Academy is seeking Teaching Artists for both the Academy and its Outreach programs in the following disciplines: 
Acting
Musical Theatre
Dance
Private Voice
Special Education

Applicants must have previous teaching and professional performance experience. Applicants should also possess classroom management skills, creativity, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills. All teachers must be able to work independently with students of all ages, as well as collaborate within a team of other teaching artists. This is a contracted position and hours will vary. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter. 

All Teaching Artists will be required to submit to a background check before beginning classes. You must have a reliable form of transportation as outreach teaching artists must travel to various schools and/or community centers in which classes are being offered.

Production Staff
 STAGES ST. LOUIS, a professional musical theatre company entering our 31st season, is accepting resumes for our 2017 seasonal Production Staff.  Available positions include: carpenters, painters, drapers, and run crews.  Build contracts run through late March-early September, run contracts are mid May- through early October.  There is some flexibility on contract dates. Housing is available.

Administrative Assistant
STATUS: Part Time

 

Position Summary:
To maintain day-to-day financial and administrative responsibilities for all STAGES internal and external programs.

 

Skills and Abilities:

• Tremendous attention to detail for all projects but especially with financial data and transactions.

• Communicate effectively and efficiently with all company associates in both written and verbal form.

• Work with other employees and departments cooperatively and professionally, treating all with courtesy, honesty and respect.

• Be proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, Jackrabbit Registration Software and Microsoft Office in general.

• Experience managing accounts payable.   

• Process a high volume of credit card receipts on a daily basis.

• Enter invoices in QuickBook as needed.

• Process AP checks and filing.

• Assist in processing payroll as needed.

• Process mail and maintain a daily check log

• Create invoices for ads and follow up on collections

• Assist in processing employee information from fire to separation.

• Assist in personnel record keeping.

• The ability to hold all financial and personnel information in the strictest confidence.

Director of Marketing

STAGES St. Louis is the region's foremost not-for-profit company committed to preserving and advancing the art form of Musical Theatre through excellence in performance and education.

We are looking for an exceptional marketing professional to lead the communications team. 

Position Summary 

This position has direct responsibility for strategic planning, brand management, partnership development, creation of marketing communication materials, media strategies and implementation of marketing tactics. Will also lead the effort for audience development including subscriptions, single ticket and group sales.  Provide marketing consultation to the development staff and the performing arts academy.  The director will manage two direct reports. 

Skills and Abilities 

  • Must possess an analytical approach to strategy development and a creative interpretation to plan implementation.
  • Create a master calendar of all marketing activities and insure the completion of tasks on a timely basis.
  • Skilled in design and development of marketing materials and public relations programs.
  • Oversight and direction of digital and social media presence including developing and reporting statistics of usage. Actively suggest ways to improve performance.
  • Manage search engine optimization and web analytics.
  • Manage photo and video projects. Ensue messaging is consistent with wider marketing plan.
  • Excellent communication skills, persuasive speaker, polished writing capabilities for a variety of formats. Write press releases and other copy.
  • Solid background in identifying partners and negotiating media buys.
  • Select and manage vendors and media partners while actively seeking to reduce costs. Manage vendor logistics to insure timely completion of projects.
  • Develop and report on market analytics related to the industry as well as the efficacy of marketing efforts.
  • Experienced in audience development/sales building.
  • Collaborative spirit; proven team leader.
  • Strong sense of fiscal responsibility and budget management. Develop the annual department budget with the assistance of the Chief Administrative Officer.

Qualifications 

  • A proven track record of marketing communications experience with at least two years leading a department.
  • Background working with all forms of media.
  • Exceptional skill in using social media and streaming content to build brand awareness and grow audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Experience in ticketing software and a background in the arts are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Hands on design skills a plus.
  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings as necessary. 

Reporting:  This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
