STAGES ST. LOUIS CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF 30TH ANNIVERSARY DIAMOND GALA (11.21.16)

STAGES ST. LOUIS HOLDS 30TH ANNIVERSARY DIAMOND GALA (10.05.16)

(ST. LOUIS) – On Friday, November 11th, 2016 STAGES St. Louis will hold its fifteenth annual Applause! Gala at the Ritz-Carlton in Clayton to support the organization’s Education and Artistic programs. Judy and Jerry Kent will serve as Presenting Sponsors, with major St. Louis arts philanthropists Ken and Nancy Kranzberg, Pat and Peggy Sly of Emerson, and Ernst and Young’s Jim and Lynne Turley as Honorary Co-Chairs. STAGES ADDS SPECIAL MATINEE PERFORMANCE TO GRAND FINALE OF ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON, THE MID-WESTERN REGIONAL THEATRE PREMIERE, SISTER ACT (8.31.16)

(ST. LOUIS) – Due to unprecedented advance ticket sales, STAGES St. Louis is thrilled to announce the addition of a special matinee performance to the original Sister Act show schedule. A conscious effort to meet patron demand, this extra show marks the first additional matinee STAGES has put on in its 30 year history. STAGES ST. LOUIS CONGRATULATES THE HUMANS AND ST. LOUIS PRODUCER, JACK LANE, ON TONY AWARDS (6.13.16) 

STAGES St. Louis congratulates STAGES' Executive Producer Jack Lane and Stephen Karam's The Humans on winning four Tony Awards, including "Best Play." Jack Lane, along with fellow St. Louisans Mike Isaacson and Kristin Caskey of Fox Theatricals, were producers on the Broadway play. The four awards are: 

- Best Play: The Humans
- Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play: Reed Birney
- Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play: Jayne Houdyshell
- Best Scenic Design of a Play: David Zinn

STAGES ST. LOUIS HONORED WITH TOP 2016 THEATER CIRCLE AWARDS (3.24.16)

STAGES St. Louis is thrilled to receive five awards from the St. Louis Theater Circle during its fourth-annual awards ceremony this past Monday. The Theater Circle Awards — presented by an organization of local critics — honor the outstanding work by actors, directors, designers and playwrights of St. Louis professional theatre in the preceding year. 

STAGES received eleven Theatre Circle nominations, with its production of Anything Goes leading as the most nominated show of the year with nine nominations. With five awards, STAGES tied with The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis as receiving more awards than any other theatre. Full Press Release

 

STAGES ST. LOUIS RECEIVES $40,000 GRANT FROM MONSANTO FUND (1.6.16)

The Monsanto Fund generously has awarded STAGES St. Louis a $40,000 grant to support its Urban Arts Initiative (UAI) program. The program, which dovetails on the Monsanto Fund's work to substantially and meaningfully improve people's lives in undeserved areas and communities, provides performing arts education to undeserved students in the St. Louis area. STAGES St. Louis proudly announces its 30th Anniversary season! The celebratory season explores momentous personal transformations told through lighthearted and life-affirming musical comedies. It begins with a modern romantic musical comedy direct from Broadway and in its Mid-Western premiere, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU, which features a mad-cap wedding celebration with unexpected twists and turns and a heartwarming message. In honor of its 30th Anniversary, STAGES continues the season with one of its most frequently requested return shows, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, a delightful and hilarious testament to the transformative power of musical theatre. Audiences will rejoice for this season’s grand finale, SISTER ACT. One of Broadway’s most recent smash-hit musicals with an uplifting and miraculous tale of self-discovery and finding one’s true calling, this St. Louis premiere is sure to have you praising the heavens! The fun begins June 3 and continues through October 9, 2016.
