STAGES ST. LOUIS CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF THE 2015 APPLAUSE! GALA (11.18.15)

(ST. LOUIS) – On Friday, November 13th, 2015 STAGES St. Louis celebrated the countdown to its 30th Anniversary Season at its fourteenth annual Applause! Gala, a benefit to support the organization’s Education and Artistic Programs. Applause! 2015 raised proceeds of over $320,000. This year’s numbers came on the heels of a spectacular 29th Season, which exceeded revenue goals with nearly $2 million in ticket sales. Judy and Jerry Kent served as the event’s Presenting Sponsors and Honorary CoChairs, with Lynne Turley as Committee Chairperson. STAGES ST. LOUIS HONORED WITH 2016 MISSOURI ARTS AWARD (11.11.15)
(ST. LOUIS) –  STAGES St. Louis is honored to be recognized by the Missouri Arts Council with a 2016 Missouri Arts Award in the category of Arts Organization. This prestigious award is the highest award an arts organization can receive in the state of Missouri. download rest of article.    

STAGES’ 2015 SEASON EXCEEDS GOALS  (10.12.15)

STAGES St. Louis is proud to report that the 29th Season exceeded revenue goals. With nearly $2 million in ticket sales, this season saw a substantial increase in box office revenue of 5.5% over 2014 sales. STAGES has grown significantly over the past five years and has increased ticket revenue by over 14%.  download rest of article. 

STAGES PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY CELEBRATES SUCCESSES AND INTRODUCES NEW PROGRAMMING FOR 2015-16 YEAR  (8.28.15)
(ST. LOUIS) – STAGES St. Louis is thrilled to report that the STAGES Performing Arts Academy experienced exceptional growth in its programming during its 2015 year and will introduce exciting new classes and programs beginning this Fall for the 2015-16 school year at the state-of-the-art Kent Center for Theatre Arts in Chesterfield. The Academy, which opened its doors in March 2004, now celebrates its twelfth year of delivering St. Louis the finest classes in the Musical Theatre disciplines of voice, dance, and drama.   download rest of article. 

STAGES RAISES OVER $80,000 AT ANNUAL CABARET TO BENEFIT EDUCATION AND ARTISTIC PROGRAMS 
Event premiered inaugural workshop production from Emerson American Musical Creative (8.25.15)
(ST. LOUIS) – On Monday, August 10th, STAGES St. Louis hosted its annual one-night-only cabaret event, Cheers!, benefiting the organization’s Education and Artistic Programs. This year, STAGES proudly presented the world premiere of The Story Goes On: The Songs of Maltby & Shire, the inaugural workshop production from Emerson American Musical Creative (AMC). AMC is the newest division at STAGES for the creation of new American musicals. Monday night’s attending audience was the first to enjoy this brand new show.   download rest of article. 

DROP EVERYTHING! STAGES ST. LOUIS GOES THE FULL MONTY  (8.17.15)
(ST. LOUIS) – STAGES St. Louis welcomes back its red-hot award-winning smash hit The Full Monty! Featuring a powerful story with enduring characters, this hilarious, yet heartwarming musical comedy will run September 4 – October 4 at the Robert G. STAGES ST. LOUIS RECEIVES GRANT FROM BOEING Grant will fund STAGES’ Access the Arts programs (7.28.15)
(ST. LOUIS) – The Employee Community Fund of the Boeing Company generously has awarded STAGES St. Louis funding to support STAGES’ Access the Arts programming. The grant will support staffing and costs for outreach residencies at partner sites as well as courses and workshops offered at the STAGES Performing Arts Academy in Chesterfield. Boeing’s Employee Community Fund has been funding the Academy since 2006.  download rest of article. 

STAGES ST. LOUIS RECEIVES FIRST-TIME FUNDING FROM WELLS FARGO ADVISORS  (7.28.15)
(ST. LOUIS) – Wells Fargo Advisors, a company with a rich history of philanthropy in St. Louis, has awarded STAGES St. Louis a $12,500 grant to support general operating expenses of its theatre arts programming. STAGES will aim this first-time gift towards the organization’s Urban Arts Initiative (UAI) program. The program, which dovetails on Wells Fargo Advisors’ commitment to strengthening communities, provides performing arts education to underserved students in the St. Louis area.  download rest of article.

STAGES ST. LOUIS HOLDS SENSORY-FRIENDLY PERFORMANCE OF DISNEY’S THE ARISTOCATS (6.22.15)
(ST. LOUIS) – STAGES St. Louis will present, for the first time, a Sensory-Friendly Performance of its Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) production of Disney’s The Aristocats on Tuesday, June 23rd at 10:00 AM at the Playhouse at Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights. Modeled on the nationally-renowned Theatre Development Fund (TDF) Accessibility Program’s Autism Theatre Initiative, the special performance will provide those on the autism spectrum or other sensitivity conditions an accessible, friendly experience in which to experience live musical theatre.   download  rest of article.

STAGES’ ALWAYS… PATSY CLINE TO CONTINUE AT THE ALABAMA SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL    (12.18.14)
(ST. LOUIS) – Hot off the heels of STAGES St. Louis’ record-breaking production of Always… Patsy Cline, STAGES is pleased to announce the show and its creators will head to Montgomery, Alabama as part of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s 2014 - 2015 Season, Jan. 13 through Feb. 8, 2015. Stars, Jacqueline Petroccia (Patsy Cline) and Zoe Vonder Haar (Louise Seger), will reprise their award-winning roles for the Alabama production. Joining Petroccia and Vonder Haar are the “Always… Patsy Cline” creative team; Michael Hamilton, Director;  James Wolk, Scenic Designer; Lou Bird, Costume Designer; and Matthew McCarthy, Lighting Designer.  download rest of article. 

 

STAGES ST. LOUIS ANNOUNCES THE 2015 SEASON A Celebration of Diversity, Friendship, and Community     (09.02.14) 
(ST. LOUIS) – STAGES St. Louis proudly announces its exhilarating 29th season, a celebration of diversity, friendship, and community! The 2015 season launches with the Grammy award-winning sensationSMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉa rousing homage to classic rock 'n' roll, and the celebrated song catalog of Leiber and Stoller.  We continue with the tap happy Broadway classic ANYTHING GOESa chic and sophisticated voyage across the Atlantic featuring the witty and romantic songs of Cole Porter.  One of Broadway's recent hits, THE FULL MONTYcaps off the season with its powerful message of family, friendship, and community.  The fun begins May 29 and continues through October 4, 2015.  In addition, the 2015 season Theatre for Young Audiences production will feature Disney’s THE ARISTOCATSbeginning June 17.  download rest of article.
