STAGES ST. LOUIS ENTERS INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR CHESTERFIELD BUILDING  (11.15.12)

STAGES  ST. LOUIS, the region’s foremost, not-for-profit performing arts company, plans to permanently establish its Performing Arts Academy and Administrative Center in the former Kol Am Building on Chesterfield Parkway East. The 22,000-square-foot facility will enable STAGES to meet a growing need for arts education programs in a larger, more flexible, state-of-the-art facility. STAGES Performing Arts Academy has been housed in temporary rental space adjacent to Chesterfield Mall since 2004. STAGES ST. LOUIS CELEBRATES THE SUCCESS OF THE 2012 APPLAUSE GALA  (11.14.12)

On Friday, November 9, 2012 STAGES ST. LOUIS hosted the eleventh annual APPLAUSE! Gala at the Ritz-Carlton, a benefit to support the organization’s Education and Artistic Programs. APPLAUSE! 2012 raised proceeds of over $325,000. This year’s numbers come on the heels of a record-breaking season, which generated nearly $1.8 million in ticket revenue. The event was hosted by Fox 2’s Kevin Steincross. Lynne Turley and Lisa Nichols served as event Co-Chairs, with Judy Kent as the Honorary Chair..  ............download rest of article.

STAGES’ 2012 SEASON BREAKS RECORDS! (10.09.12)

THE SOUND OF MUSIC BREAKS BOX OFFICE RECORDS AT STAGES ST. LOUIS (8.23.12)

The beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, The Sound of Music, played at STAGES ST. LOUIS from July 20 through August 19 at the Robert G. STAGES RAISES OVER $65,000 FOR EDUCATION AND ARTISTIC PROGRAMS WITH CABARET EVENT  (8.15.12)

On Monday, August 13 STAGES ST. LOUIS hosted Putting It Together, a one-night-only cabaret event benefiting the organization’s Education  and Artistic Programs.  Putting It Together featured some of STAGES’ favorite talents. Executive Producer Jack Lane performed alongside Casey Erin Clark, currently playing Maria in STAGES’ production of The Sound of Music, and Ben Nordstrom, making his highly anticipated St. Louis return. Casey  recently finished the 25th Anniversary Tour of Les Misérables as both a Factory Girl and the understudy to Fantine, and sung the touching song “I Dreamed a Dream,” treating the special St. Louis audience to her Broadway talents. Ben Nordstrom received Kevin Kline Awards for Lead Actor in a Musical for the 2010 STAGES ST. LOUIS production of Promises, Promises and the 2005 production of Footloose. TEEN WORKSHOP UNDERWAY FOR STAGES PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY’S FULL-SCALE PRODUCTION OF URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL (7.19.12)

This Summer the STAGES Performing Arts Academy expands by moving their teen performance workshop to the state-of-the-art Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade College Preparatory School. BROADWAY FAVORITE VISITS REHEARSAL AT STAGES PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY (7.11.12)

STAGES Performing Arts Academy expanded their teen performance workshop this Summer by moving to the state-of-the-art Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade College Preparatory School. The three week program features professional teachers, directors, and guest artists from around the country, resulting in a final full-scale production of Urinetown: The Musical. As STAGES Performing Arts Academy teens neared the end of the rehearsal process, they were greeted by a surprise audience member. On August 2nd, Hunter Foster, who originated the lead role of Bobby Strong in the first Broadway production of Urinetown stopped in to catch the final dress rehearsal of the show, offering a very special “break a leg” to the young cast.   ............download rest of article.

STAGES Announces our 26th Season The American Composer Celebration (9.09.11)

STAGES ST. LOUIS proudly announces its 26th season! The season is a journey into the luminous sounds of the American composer. The season begins with the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Ain’t Misbehavin’, The Fats Waller Musical, which explores the groundbreaking time of the Harlem cultural renaissance in the 1930s and 1940s. The journey continues with another Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, The Sound of Music, composed by the crowned kings of musical theatre, Rodgers and Hammerstein. The grand finale of the season is the tap-dancing spectacular My One and Only featuring a remarkable score by George and Ira Gershwin. The musical journey begins June 1 and runs through October 7, 2012.  In addition, the 2012 season Theatre for Young Audiences production (TBA) will run June 20 through July 1 at the Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade through a new partnership between STAGES ST.
